Southborough Roofers
p>
I just had a new roof put on my home in Southborough (I live on Parkerville Road).
I checked around and had lots of estimates from different roofers in Southboro.
So, I finally chose one. His estimate for my roof was only 60% of another estimate I got here in Southborough.
So what could I do? I checked his references CAREFULLY, and when I was as satisfied as I could get, I hired him and he did a great job roofing my house.
Want a reference? I'll be happy to give you his name (I don't want to put his name on the web). Just drop me an email at WebmasterUS@oes.org
So, what did I have done?
I had...
... the old roof stripped off.
... rotted plywood sheathing replaced.
... all of my vented drip edge replaced with regular drip edge and properly vented soffits
... new fascia boards installed everywhere
... tar paper installed over the whole roof
... Ice and Water Shield installed on the lower 3 feet of the roof
... new ridge venting installed with Cobra vent and shingle caps
... new 30-year architectural shingles installed, properly weaved into valleys
... new flashing installed where rooflines met house siding
... Ice and Water Shield under that new flashing
... "crickets" were built to direct water flow from running against siding
... 6 skylights properly reflashed.
Of course, they pulled the proper permits from the Town of Southborough,
and they took away all of their trash (and some of mine, too!),
They tarped the house and cleaned up for nails very carefully.
It was a big job
(almost 35 square (that's 3500 square feet of roof)), and they did it in one week, Monday through Friday.
They only did one section at a time just in case bad weather came about.
It rained hard on Tuesday afternoon, but they had seen the forecast and only stripped off
enough of the old roof to finish just as the rain was starting.
I did have to call them back to fix one little area that looked a little strange to me
and they came back the next Saturday morning to fix it up for me. Nice job!
So again, if you want a reference for roofing in southborough, just drop me a line at WebmasterUS@oes.org and I'll be glad to give you his name and number.

Here come the Materials! Wasn't the old roof color such a pretty shade of red?
No? Well it was like that when I bought the house.
Carefully lifting all of the roofing materials onto the roof.
The lift truck was amazing to watch.
All done with the roof (doesn't it look great? We did pick a new and lighter color that had a touch of the red in it).
Now on to the painting! :D
Finally, did I mention this guy lives right here in Southborough? Really!
Now I want to be upfront with you.
He did tell me that if I helped him put up a website and help him find new customers, he'd give me a hand on a project or two I have around the house, so I have something to gain for writing this review.
But I'm not going to risk my reputation here in town for a few bucks worth of labor. Really. He did a great job and you can come look it over.
What are you going to do, keep searching the 'net or the Yellow Pages and hope you get lucky, or ask me for a personal reference? You know where I live!
Just drop me a line at WebmasterUS@oes.org and I'll be glad to give you his name and number.
Hope you enjoyed looking at just a couple of the pictures I took while they were working on my roof.
